Discuss Geeky things, funny things and hear from the experts
I am proud to announce that the new discussion board is finally in place. In my excitement to show it off, I am tempted to write on and on about how wonderful it is. Then again, I am a bit biased. :) In an effort to keep this newsletter relatively short, let me summarize the main areas for you. The discussion board forums fall into 3 main areas: Geekiness, Community, Expertise:

Geekiness: In these forums, you can discuss anything geeky. The Ultimage Geek Gadget, Geek Humor, Cubicle Gadgets, Gizmos, Amazing Technologies....

Expertise: The nature of this website invites folks that are real, contributing experts in a wide range of technologies. Experts that visit the many expert forums are the same ones that will be answering your questions.

Community: Don't forget about the "Community" in community credit. You can a bit closer with others in the development community. Introduce yourself, chat in the lounge, discuss current topics, talk amongst yourselves.

All postings get community credit points automatically due to our recent add-on for Community Server. This brings me to my next HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT

Community Credit now has a Community Server Add-on.
This is news that I am very happy to announce. Simone Chiaretta, famed developer on the Subtext Project, has created an add-on for Community Server. It is as simple as copying in a .dll to your bin directory and adding a small section to your config file. That's it. Suddenly all of the blog entries and discussion posts will get community credit automatically. It could really be no simpler.

If you look at one of the early posts on the discussion board, you will see Simone asking why points are not automatically added when you post on the forum? Considering the nature of this site, it should be expected. Before I could say "Nazbatag", he produced a fully-functional community-server add-on. It works great, and we are testing it out right now. If you add a post on the discussion board, you will see it in action. If you have a site that is powered by Community Server and want to automatically reward users with community credit for their contributions, please email me at admin@community-credit.com. A big thank you to you, Simone for doing such an incredible job!!!!!!

Amazing Technologies
3D Desktop
Just saw this amazing video of a 3D desktop made with the purpose to simulate a real desk.In this prototype icons can be piled, spread all over the desk, and so on, as real books, photo or printed documents.

Future Webcam - Change your looks with Face Mapping
This webcam employs a truly amazing Face Mapping technology that will completely alter the way that we chat in the future. You have to see this!

Cool Virtual Map at Microsoft Visitor Center
If you have seen Minority Report, it is pretty close to that type of interface.

The Ultimate Geek Gadgets
The Cryo Kennel - Don't leave your pet, Freeze your pet (Eureka Products)
Going away on a trip? Can't bring your family's furry friend? Let Fluffy or Fido chill out in the Cryo Kennel. Don't leave your pet - Freeze your pet

xMac Roll-up Personal Computer (Made in Eureka)
The xMac is a quantum leap in portability over the laptop. Just 1 millimeter thin, the 20 x 14-inch sheet includes an 18-inch monitor and CPU — all built out of flexible plastics and alloys so you can roll it up into a 14-inch-long cylinder. When you unroll it, the xMac automatically goes rigid (thanks to special polymers) and engages the kickstand. When it's time to travel again, three quick taps of the Escape key make it go all bendy. A beam shoots out from a port underneath the monitor to project a keyboard and mousepad (for your finger) on any flat surface, which doubles as a reader for CD- and DVD-ROMs — just hold up the data side of a disc for a quick (2-second) scan by the beam, and all the contents are transferred to the xMac's 20-terabyte hard drive. Best of all, it runs completely on spam, so you never have to recharge!

Personal Submarine
Now what guy has not always dreamed about this? The 1 person SoloSub is our new single person Sub designed for self-piloted rentals, and security patrols. The pilot rides inside the body of the sub with their head inside the air pocket which is surrounded by view ports making for excellent visibility in all directions. SoloSub uses two thrusters like a traditional SportSub, providing excellent control and maneuverability allowing the sub to rotate in it's own length, hover, and fly straight up and down, just like a helicopter. And for added control, the Auto-Depth Control system can be added.

Star Ship Voyager House
There was a great story some time back about a HardCore Star Trek fan who transformed his apartment into an exact replica of the Starship Voyager. He later started a company that can help you transform your house (or, more likely, your parent's basement) into the Starship Voyager.

Geek Toys
Slacker Chair
For workers in a relaxed office environment, this "Slacker Chair" will make your entire workday like an afternoon in a bean-bag.

Apple + Nike running kit no, I'm not speaking about the running girl, but about the running kit: radio pedometer + radio receiver for iPod Nano, and here you have one of the most usefull running companion you could have: second only to that girl :-)

Geek Humor
The usual debate whether is better buying a Mac or a Windows..."> Here is a funny video about a tech support guy trying to explain that Word on Office for Windows is not a word said in an office with a window :-)

Object Oriented Joke It's more Java than .NET, but you should get it even if you are not a Java programmer.
