    Database Analyst/Developer in Tulsa Full-Time

     Database Analyst/Developer in Tulsa Full-Time

Looking for someone who has a understanding of databases.  Would much prefer MS SQL Server, but Oracle or Sybase would be considered.  Need to have experience writing stored procedures, triggers, etc.  They will be using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and potentially SQL Server Reporting Services,
so experience there is good but not required.

It is not a job for a hard-core programmer.  They will not be programming 100% of the time.  Someone expecting otherwise might become dissatisfied.

The candidate will be involved with support of several vendor packages, and performing integration and reporting between these systems.  They need to be comfortable with the idea of supporting vendor packages and working with vendors effectively.  The reporting aspects can involve tax and compliance reporting, so attention to detail is important.

Some other technical skills that would be very helpful would be Unix (preferably Linux) and .NET development skills using C# or VB.NET.  Could involve some Excel and Access at times as well.

The person really needs outstanding relationship skills.  Someone who can be comfortable working with senior management all the way to folks at a fuel terminal.   They need to be able to communicate with stakeholders independently.   Some of the personalities here can be challenging, so they need to be able
to handle that gracefully and stay cool under pressure.  No hotheads.

The person needs to be intuitive, and a fast learner.  There is a wide range of aspects to learn.  Needs to be a big picture person who has the drive and has a natural curiosity about how the business works.  I think someone who graduated with a MIS business degree or has an MBA would be promising.

There could be some travel to Denver, Green Bay, and potentially to other locations such as terminals.

This is a role where the person will likely be working with another business analyst who supports the business.  Besides that person, they would be working very independently.  So they need to be able to do that.  It is not a situation where they will be part of a team supporting the same business unit, so they need to be comfortable with that.
