I received the book its great! I frequently use it as a reference guide. Fortunately, I work for a company that believes very strongly in this user group, so I am given plenty of time to work on it and build relationships. I will definitely keep in touch with you for help on making this group a great one. Thanks for the heads up!

Sounds like you are exactly on the right path. Working with both groups will really help to maximize the benefit that you receive. You might want to also check out the INETA website and take advantage of some of the features that are available to user group leaders. You should also expect some big changes to the site in the very near future that I know you will like. I am involved in the newsletter as well. If you know of members that are doing great things, I would be happy to get the word out. Helping to spread the word about what your members are doing will help to spread the word about the group in general. And, of course, let me know the ways in which we can support your user group. Last but not least, you should be getting the book, "Building Technical Communities" when you register the group in INETA. It is reall a great book. It will help you with your group like nothing else.

P.S. On an unrelated note, the site may be down for a day or so starting tonight as I am moving to a new server. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Congratulations!
Mark Rosenberg who just did a great presentation on Visual Studio 2008 at another user group meeting, is a User Group Mentor for Ineta as well as a board member. I have been following his advice on how to get the ball rolling for our User Group. I am trying to work with both Ineta and Culminis to make our User Group as succesful as possible. Any advice you can give would be great, I'm all ears.

Awesome to hear about your involvement in Culminis. I am pretty involved in INETA myself. In fact, at risk of tooting my own horn, I am very proud to say that I was just elected to the INETA Board. It keeps me quite busy so I am not sure I could squeeze in time to help with Culminus, not this month at least, but maybe in the near future. It would be great to see the ways in which the two groups can work together.

That is a good point. Often times, especially at the beginning of the year, some submissions are entered as DD/MM/YY instead of MM/DD/YY.

Chris - take a look at the previous months contributions under "My Credit" to see if they've slipped in there. I found that I'd posted a couple of things into the wrong month (and wrong year in one case), so a quick bit of investigation on your part should see David alright.

Thanks for the help!
The submissions I was trying to add were as follows:
Started a User Group Oct of 07 - http://cs-ug.org
So far have ran 3 Meetings Since established - http://cs-ug.org/Archive.aspx

I will also have a submission coming up pretty soon as we may be the User Group holding down the Culminis Booth at the Anaheim Heroes Launch Event (Details on that to come, let me know if you would like to get involved)

I'm sure I may have tried to plug in other submissions but they escape me at the moment. Thanks again for the help!

Hey Chris,

I just viewed the outstanding submissions and don't see any pending ones. Later on today, I can check the database to make sure that all is right in the world. In the case of prior submissions, you can definitely enter them because they help to really fill out your profile. You will have access to your public profile so that you can show off to the world all of your community activities. If you have a lot of submissions, there might be a way for us to automate it a bit. It depends on the type of submissions really. Why don't you post some of the details here or drop me an email and we can discuss it to see what would be involved. In any case, I would be happy to help you with it.

Wow,
I'm glad that someone else had asked this question, I was planning to do this today. I noticed that I had manually enterest some previous contributions that had not shown as pending and a handful of them that did were not awarded credit. I am new to Community-Credit so I am not sure if I overlooked guidlines or did something wrong? Can you help?

I did notice that :) . One more question, do I get points for every contribution in the past or is it a standard 25 points for the total of all previous contributions?
