Source code for Microsoft .Net framework libraries to be released to the community

Scott Guthrie, GM .Net group in Microsoft announced that the source code for .Net framework 3.5 will be released to the community with *full comments*. This will be for reference and debugging purposes only. Check out his blog here.

    Now isn't this great news?

I think that is pretty sweet - although with an announcement like this, there's been some blog traffic out there suggesting some don't welcome this.

I think the way it's being released makes it pretty sweet...kind of a neat feature for VS 2008.

Well... you cannot satisfy everyone. Some people even crib GPL. It is only for genuinely interested folks :)

Okay, I am a little bit late on this post, but what is the reason that folks don't welcome it?

Ah, I guess that if I had read the original Blog Post by Scott Guthrie, it was have been a bit clearer to me.  After reading it, that is awesome news!  Pretty exciting stuff!
