Auto-Gen useful test data for your SQL databases

I've seen and used other data generators before but now I'm curious about this new offering from Red Gate.

    Check out this article: http://www.ciol.com/Databases/News-Reports/SQL-Data-Generator-for-MS-SQL-Server/9408105123/0/

Very nice too. This is an area that we often struggle with, so any tool that helps will be a great choice for us.

I hear ya - I know there was a free one (the name of the product escapes me now) that I used a couple years back but it generated mostly random data of a certain type. For example you could generate a bunch of GUIDs if you wanted or dates, or strings....one neat feature was that you could also use an input file to generate the data so I would use a list of names, addresses, etc. as well.

If I remember the name or find an old copy of it I'll pass the info along.

Thanks for that. I'd appreciate it.
